Special Economics Zones

A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is a separate administrative part of the territory of Poland earmarked for conducting business activities on preferential terms. An SEZ is a place subject to special, preferential tax treatment, where the entrepreneur may start a business on a specially prepared site and conduct it without paying income tax for a defined period (Regulations of the Council of Ministers on the establishment of special economic zones in the region).

The objectives behind the establishment of SEZs:

  • acceleration of the economic development of Polish regions,
  • development and application of new technical and technological solutions in the national economy,
  • increase of the competitiveness of products and services,
  • utilization of the post-industrial property and infrastructure,
  • creation of new jobs.

SEZ in Mazovia:

Łódź Special Economic Zone covers the land of an area of 897 ha, including, among others, areas of Mazovian Voivodeship. The following cities and towns are located within its range: Warszawa, Żyrardów, Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

Since 15 October 2011, Starachowice SEZ has covered an area of 612.9051 ha in total, of which 2 sub-zones of Mazovian Voivodeship cover Szydłowiec and Iłża regions.

    • Iłża Sub-zone 9.1065 ha - Mazovia Voivodship is located in industrial part of the city, by the country road no.9.
    • Szydłowiec Sub-zone 9.1693 ha - Mazovia Voivodship is located in industrial parts of the city. Total surface of the zone amounts 9.1065 ha and there is still available area of 1.8538 ha.

SEZ in Mazovia:

Łódź Special Economic Zone covers the land of an area of 897 ha, including, among others, areas of Mazovian Voivodeship. The following cities and towns are located within its range: Warszawa, Żyrardów, Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

Suwałki Special Economic Zone in Mazovia covers the land of an area of 23.92 ha located in Małkinia Górna – Małkinia Górna Sub-zone. The entire site has been developed by Rockwool Polska Sp. z o.o. (construction sector)

The zone’s area covers 1,632.31 ha. In Mazovia region the zone's area covers 322.26 ha. At present, TSEZ covers the land including buildings and industrial-type structures. It is located in the area of Mazovian Voivodeship covering 6 sub-zones within its boundaries: Radom, Siedlce, Węgrów, Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą, Przasnysz and Mińsk Mazowiecki:

    • Sub-zone Radom (151.55 ha) including: Radom, Ożarów Mazowiecki, Pionki, Wyszków, Pilawa;
    • Sub-zone Siedlce (60.35 ha);
    • Sub-zone Węgrów (29.33 ha);
    • Sub-zone Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą (15.13 ha);
    • Sub-zone Przasnysz (55.07 ha);
    • Sub-zone Mińsk Mazowiecki (5.78 ha).

Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone is located in the north-eastern region of Poland and covers within its boundaries an area of 984.8 ha of land earmarked for economic investment. This area comprises 28 sub-zones, including 4 sub-zones located in the area of Mazovian Voivodeship covering the following towns:Ciechanów Sub-zone, Mława Sub-zone, Płońsk Sub-zone, Ostrołęka Sub-zone.

ANUGA 2013

As the part of the project "Mazovia -the economic heart of Poland", Mazovia Development Agency Plc has organised a participation in ANUGA trade fairs (5th-9th October 2013). The event was attended by six companies of Mazovia region. These companies presented together at the booth of Mazovia their products: fruits (apples), sweets, cereals, processed vegetables, additives and food colors.

As the part of the project "Mazowsze - economic heart of Poland", Mazovia Development Agency Plc was organizing on 17-20 September 2013 a visit of Mazovian companies to World Food Moscow 2013 fair. The event was attended by 7 mazovian companies representing the following product groups: fruits, vegetables, pasta, organic sweets.
